A practical upgrade example
Here is one concrete comparison before choosing your next card. These are calculated values from the community rebuild, not a measured combat result.
Base stats; no passives, critical hits or enemy defenses. In-game display rounding can differ.
Rank 3 adds one target as well as changing damage and cooldown. If several enemies are closing in, the extra target may matter; check whether those enemies are within the spell’s targeting range.
In this source revision, Frostbolt has a 24-yard targeting range and zero base effect radius. Increasing radius does not extend that targeting range or give the spell splash damage.

Before following a guide
Save time by matching the guide to the client you are actually playing.
The author’s site links the browser game and a Windows archive. Follow the prompts and upgrade descriptions in your current client.
Open the author’s game ↗Our class pools, controls and Frostbolt calculations describe OutThisLife’s fixed source revision dd5e330. They are not a guarantee of the original game’s current balance.

Before your next run
Find the right client, understand what a guide covers and keep the next decision simple.
Start at Aethus’s original game page. This website is an independent companion with guides and reference tools. Its play buttons take you to the creator’s site; they do not start a separate copy here. The author’s page also provides the Windows archive and a community link for support.
If the client does not start, read the message on that page before trying a fix. A WebGPU warning and a capacity message need different next steps. Our loading guide separates those cases.
The author currently links to AzerothSurvivorsWindowsNew.rar on wow.aethus.pl. A RAR file is an archive to extract, not a browser extension or a game launcher supplied by this guide. Use the download reference to check the exact author-hosted address, file metadata and extraction steps.
The word “New” in the filename does not identify a balance version. Keep the archive’s name separate from any version label shown by the client. We have not run the Windows executable or audited its contents, and we do not host a mirror.
Browser play is the direct starting route when your browser exposes WebGPU and can obtain a working GPU adapter. The author’s bootstrap recommends a current Chrome, Edge or Safari. Detecting the API alone does not establish that your GPU, available memory or current client will work; the check on this page deliberately reports only API availability.
The author-linked Windows archive provides another route on Windows. For a phone, check both graphics support and the controls rather than assuming a browser name guarantees compatibility. This guide has not verified gameplay on a physical phone.
Choose an opening mechanism you want to learn, then check the spell offered in your own client. The nine-class reference explains starting spells, targeting ranges, available ability pools and the community rebuild’s F skills. Warrior and Rogue have close-range openers in that snapshot; the other seven start with ranged spells. Later choices can change how close you need to stand.
Those facts do not establish a class ranking. We have not compared all classes under a common game version, zone, progression state and upgrade sequence. The first-run guide gives you a practice plan without promising an optimal class.
Identify what the choice actually changes: damage, recharge interval, targets, radius or duration. Then compare it with the problem closing your escape route. More targeting range and a larger effect radius are different properties. A new passive also uses a different slot pool from a new spell in the community revision documented here.
Use the card-reading guide, compare the ten passive effects, or try the Frostbolt spell lab. The lab lets you change one assumption at a time and shows its formulas; its source calculations are not measured original-game damage.
Aethus’s live game, the author-hosted Windows archive and OutThisLife’s community source rebuild should not be treated as one shared version. The original can change independently of a fixed source snapshot. A creator’s video may also start with progression or upgrades that your run does not have.
Before copying a setup, record the game address, platform, class and any visible build label. Compare the actual cards you receive with the example. Our version notes explain the boundaries, and the source page links each kind of evidence. A guide review date or an asset cache string is not an original-game release number.
Original launch and download links checked October 27, 2026. Numerical class and upgrade references retain their labelled community source revision.
